Good PR brought the efforts of the Protect Our Waters Coalition
into the international spotlight by garnering worldwide media
coverage. With placement in more than 150 outlets including Business
Week and The Washington Post, Public Good
PR’s
strategic media outreach led Nestlé to scale back plant
plans by 60 percent and to cancel its original contract
with the town of McCloud, California. The company also
agreed to conduct extensive scientific research on how
the plant might affect the surrounding natural habitat.
Our efforts proved successful when Nestle announced their
complete abandonment of the McCloud project, their plans
to sell their real estate holdings in the town and their
commitment to completing the two years of scientific studies
we convinced them to undertake.
