Background

The Leakey Foundation was founded in 1968 to promote the budding science of human evolution, the field of study to which Dr. Louis S.B. Leakey devoted much of his life. Today, the Foundation is one of the world’s preeminent funders of research into human pre-history and evolution.

Promoting 40 years of Primate Research with Jane Goodall: The Leakey Foundation

The Leakey Foundation presented the Leakey Prize, the nation’s most prestigious award in human evolutionary science, to world-renowned primate scientists Drs. Jane Goodall and Toshisada Nishida in November 2008. In celebration of its 40th anniversary, the foundation held a series of events in San Francisco and hired Public Good PR to promote them from the local level up to the international stage.

Public Good PR’s efforts garnered extensive media coverage including in the San Francisco Chronicle, the Los Angeles Times, and leading bilingual (English-Japanese) daily paper, Hokubei Mainichi; radio interviews on a number of national programs, such as NPR’s Science Friday and PRI’s To the Best of Our Knowledge; and articles in Nature and Discover magazines.

We are sincerely honored to have been invited to promote the work of Dr. Jane Goodall and The Leakey Foundation.
