Background

California Trout has been working since 1971 to secure protections for the state’s unparalleled wild and native trout. The organization brought in Public Good PR to publicize a comprehensive status report of California’s native salmon, trout, and steelhead species showing that many of California’s native fish face likely extinction in the next 100 years.

California Fish in Crisis: California Trout

When California Trout released SOS: California’s Native Fish Crisis in November 2008, Public Good PR helped shape this complex, policy-oriented report into a story so newsworthy it landed on the front page of the San Francisco Chronicle. By appropriately shaping the story, PGPR shined a spotlight on this issue, garnering additional coverage in the Los Angeles Times, Sacramento Bee, Associated Press and local outlets throughout California.
